Summary This presentation examines the solar business model and compares it to that of semiconductors. The following topics are covered: a comparision of manufacturing methods, supplier revenues, silicon shortage effect on pricing, growth rates, RonR, Moore's Law for Solar, demand drivers, power plant payback; as well as venture, private, and public equity investment trends in solar.

Comment Thanks, every one. On solar efficiency doubling, Moore's law has only been
limited by lithographic scaling. You could always go smaller from the
dimensions we started at because we were so far away from the molecular
level. Solar efficiency is starting out far closer to its theoretical
limits. Remember that with percents, you can only double a limited number
of times before you are over 100%, which is mathematically possible.

Comment Fabulous report. I was wondering how Moore's law could be applied to solar
- now I know the only things different are the time cycles. Hopefully the
solar efficiency doubling will increase from its current 15 year pace as
more investment is made.
